"The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that we must ask for in order to obtain" - LDS Guide to the Scriptures. I have really felt the power of other people's prayers for me in my life. Thank you, they do make a significant difference! I try to do the same and always have a list of people I am praying for who I love and want to serve. This requirement to ask in prayer makes a lot of sense to me now that I'm a parent. I also require my kids to ask me nicely for the things they need in order to receive them!
