In reality, how other people decide to treat you doesn't tell us anything about you, it only says something about them.
Its never really about you. What other people do or say is always about them. Getting offended or taking it personally doesn't help you be a better person. It certainly doesn't help anyone else either.
One of my favorite feelings to have towards others is curiosity. I'm fascinated by people and I love trying to understand them.
I ask myself, "What might they be thinking and feeling that causes them to act the way they do?" This has been a very productive approach for me. Instead of feeling bad about myself I become a more understanding and compassionate person.
